Fees and creator tax
This page lists every fee a GAMA launch charges, who receives each one and how much it can be. The values are those of the current GIWA Sepolia release. Each launch keeps the fees it was created with.
Every fee at a glance
| Fee | When | Rate | Goes to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creation fee | Creating a launch | 0.00078 ETH | GAMA |
| Trading fee, standard launch | Every trade, on the curve and in the pool | 1% | 70% the creator, 30% GAMA |
| Creator tax | Every trade of a standard launch | 0% to 9%, chosen at launch | The creator |
| Trading fee, reward launch | Every trade, on the curve and in the pool | 1% | GAMA |
| Holder fee | Every trade of a reward launch | 1% to 4%, chosen at launch | The token's holders |
| Anti-snipe tax | Curve buys in a launch's first blocks, when switched on | Starts at 99% in total | Shared like the trading fee |
| DEX protocol fee | Pool trades, when switched on | 0% today, at most 0.1% | GAMA |
| Payout charge | Automatic payouts only | The lower of 0.000001 ETH and 1% | The payout operations address |
| Graduation fee | Graduation | None |
The creation fee is always paid in ETH, whatever the launch is priced in. Every trading fee is paid in the launch's paired asset. "GAMA" here means protocol revenue, which is split between the treasury and the GAMA buyback-and-burn; see Protocol revenue. The anti-snipe tax is off on the testnet; see Anti-snipe tax.
How a fee is taken from a trade
Fees come out of the paired-asset side of a trade, never out of the tokens.
- On a buy, the fees come off what you pay, and the rest buys tokens.
- On a sell, the fees come off what the sale returns, and you receive the rest.
For example, a buy of 0.1 test ETH on a standard launch with a 2% creator tax pays 0.001 ETH of trading fee and 0.002 ETH of creator tax. The other 0.097 ETH buys tokens. The quote in the trade panel already includes every fee; open Fee breakdown under it to see them line by line.
Standard launches
The 1% trading fee is split 70% to the creator's payout wallet and 30% to GAMA, so the creator receives 0.7% of every trade. The creator tax, if any, goes to the creator in full. Everything the creator earns is paid in the paired asset; none of it is held back or used to buy the launch's own token. See Creator earnings.
The pool charges the same after graduation: a 1% trading fee with the same split, plus the same creator tax. A launch's pool adds no fee for liquidity providers.
Reward launches
The 1% trading fee goes to GAMA, and the holder fee is shared among the token's holders. Both are charged from the very first trade, on the curve and in the pool. There is no creator fee or creator tax. See Holder rewards.
Limits
These caps are written into the contracts. Nobody can set a fee above them.
- The creator tax is at most 9%.
- The holder fee is from 1% to 4%.
- The trading fee is at most 10%. GAMA's admin can change it for future launches within that limit; today it is 1%.
- Together, the fees on an ordinary trade are at most 20%. With today's 1% trading fee, a standard launch charges at most 10% and a reward launch at most 5%.
- The anti-snipe tax is the only exception to the 20% limit, for a few blocks after launch.
- The payout charge is never more than 1% of a payment.
What can change after launch
A launch's own trading fee, creator tax or holder fee, and its mode, never change. Three things outside them can:
- GAMA's split of its own share. The admin can change how protocol revenue is divided for future fees. Amounts already credited stay where they are.
- The DEX protocol fee on the launch's pool. It is 0% today and can be set to at most 0.1%. When it is above zero, the token page's fee list shows a DEX protocol fee row.
- Fee exemptions, below.
Fee-free trades
- GAMA buybacks. The contract that buys GAMA to burn it pays no trading fees. See Buyback and burn.
- Exempt addresses. GAMA's admin can exempt an address from every fee, including the creator tax, holder fee and anti-snipe tax, on every launch at once. The exemption covers only trades the address makes directly on a curve or in a launch's pool. A wallet that trades through the app's routers or order books still pays, because the router or order book is the one trading. An exempt address still earns holder rewards like any holder. On the current testnet release, the protocol owner's own address is exempt.
Every other trade pays the fees above.
Where the fees go
Fees are not sent anywhere at trade time. GAMA's fee contract records each amount for the account it belongs to. The creator's share, GAMA's share and holder rewards are then paid out automatically about every five minutes, less a small payout charge, and every account can also claim its own balance at any time with no charge. See Payouts and claims.
