Fees
These are the fees on GIWA Sepolia today. Each launch keeps the rates it was created with, so a later change of settings never touches a launch that already exists. Network gas is separate: it goes to the network, not to GAMA.
Summary
| Fee | When | Rate | Paid to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creation fee | Creating a launch | 0.00078 ETH | GAMA |
| Trading fee, standard mode | Every curve and pool trade | 1% | 70% creator, 30% GAMA |
| Creator tax | Every trade of a standard launch that set one | 0% to 9%, chosen at launch | Creator |
| Platform fee, reward mode | Every curve and pool trade | 1% | GAMA |
| Holder fee | Every trade of a reward launch | 1% to 4%, chosen at launch | Holders |
| Anti-snipe tax | Curve buys in a launch's first blocks, only if it was on at creation | Starts at 99% in total, falls to the normal fee | Standard: split like the trading fee. Reward: GAMA |
| DEX protocol fee | Swaps in a GAMA DEX pool where it is on | 0% unless switched on, at most 0.1% | GAMA |
| LP fee | Swaps in ordinary pools | Set by whoever created the pool; 0% in canonical pools | The pool's liquidity providers |
| Payout charge | Automatic payouts only | For ETH, 0.000001 ETH or 1% of the payment, whichever is lower | The payout operations address |
| Keeper charge | Each fill of a limit or DCA order | The fill's network cost, within your limit per fill | The keeper |
| Graduation fee | Graduation | None |
The creation fee is always paid in ETH, whatever the pair token. Every trading fee is paid in the launch's pair token and is a share of the pair-token side of the trade: on a buy, of what you pay; on a sell, of what you receive. There is no fee for placing an order.
"GAMA" means protocol revenue, divided as described in Protocol revenue. "Creator" means whoever holds the launch's creator rights when the fee is charged.
Standard mode
A standard launch charges the 1% trading fee, split 70% to the creator and 30% to GAMA, plus any creator tax, on its curve and in its pool. For example, a buy of 0.1 test ETH on a launch with a 2% creator tax pays:
| Amount | |
|---|---|
| Trading fee to the creator | 0.0007 test ETH |
| Trading fee to GAMA | 0.0003 test ETH |
| Creator tax, to the creator | 0.002 test ETH |
| Left to buy tokens | 0.097 test ETH |
Everything the creator earns is paid in the pair token. None of it is held back or used to buy the launch's own token. See Creator earnings.
Reward mode
A reward launch charges the 1% platform fee and its holder fee on every trade, on the curve and in the pool, from the very first trade. The platform fee goes to GAMA; the holder fee is shared by holders. There is no creator fee and no creator tax: the creator earns only as a holder, like anyone else.
A part of the holder fee goes to GAMA instead of holders when nobody can receive it: the whole holder fee in the block the launch is created, and the share of holders who sold during a block. See Holder rewards.
Because reward trades pay 2% to 5% in fees instead of 1% plus any tax, buyers pay more in total to sell out a reward curve. The amount that goes into the pool at graduation is the same.
Limits
- The trading fee and the platform fee are each at most 10%, the creator tax at most 9% and the holder fee 1% to 4%. Together an ordinary trade pays at most 20% in launch fees. With today's 1% trading and platform fee, a standard trade pays at most 10% and a reward trade at most 5%.
- The anti-snipe tax is the only exception to the 20% limit. It lasts 3 blocks by default and never more than 60 blocks, about a minute on GIWA. See Anti-snipe tax.
- The payout charge can never be more than 1% of a payment, whatever the settings. Claiming yourself has no charge.
- The DEX protocol fee can never be more than 0.1% of a swap, Uniswap V4's own limit.
Trades without fees
GAMA's own buyback rounds pay no launch fees. The protocol owner can also exempt an address from fees. An exempt address pays no launch fee of any kind, including creator tax, holder fee and anti-snipe tax, when it trades directly on a curve or in a canonical pool, on every launch of the release. A wallet trading through the app's routers or an order book still pays, because the router or order book is the direct caller. The DEX protocol fee, where it is on, still applies. See Administration and trust.
Every other trade pays the fees above, whichever app or route it comes through.
Where fees go
Fees are not sent out at trade time. They are credited in the fee escrow in the same transaction, and then paid out automatically about every five minutes, less the payout charge, or claimed by their owners at any time with no charge. See Fee escrow and payouts.
