Standard and reward modes
Every launch has one of two modes, chosen when it is created. The mode decides who earns from trading: you as the creator, or the token's holders. It cannot be changed later.
At a glance
| Standard | Reward mode | |
|---|---|---|
| Fees on every trade | 1% trading fee, plus your creator tax of 0% to 9% | 1% trading fee, plus a holder fee of 1% to 4% |
| Who receives the trading fee | 70% you, 30% GAMA | All to GAMA |
| Who receives the second fee | You (creator tax) | The token's holders (holder fee) |
| What you earn as the creator | 0.7% of every trade, plus your creator tax | Nothing as the creator. You earn holder rewards on tokens you hold, like anyone else |
| Total fee per trade | 1% to 10% | 2% to 5% |
In both modes the fees are paid in the paired asset, from the very first trade, on the curve and in the pool after graduation. GAMA's share is protocol revenue; see Protocol revenue.

- Launch mode: Standard or Reward mode.
- Creator tax: the slider for a standard launch; in reward mode it becomes the Holder fee.
- Fees per trade: the total each trade pays, and who receives it.
Standard mode
A standard launch charges a 1% Trading fee on every trade. 70% of it goes to your payout wallet and 30% to GAMA, so you receive 0.7% of every trade.
You can add a Creator tax of 0% to 9%, in steps of 0.5% in the form. The whole tax goes to you, on buys and on sells.
For example, a buy of 0.1 test ETH on a standard ETH launch with a 2% creator tax pays 0.003 test ETH in fees:
- 0.0007 to you, your 70% of the 1% trading fee;
- 0.002 to you, the creator tax;
- 0.0003 to GAMA, its 30% of the trading fee.
You receive 0.0027 test ETH from that one trade. GAMA sends your earnings to your wallet automatically about every five minutes, or you can claim them yourself. See Creator earnings.
A higher creator tax earns you more per trade, and every trader pays it on the way in and on the way out.
Reward mode
A reward-mode launch charges the 1% Trading fee, which goes to GAMA, and a Holder fee of 1% to 4% that is shared among everyone holding the token. The form offers 1% to 4% in steps of 0.5% and starts at 1%. Holders are paid in the paired asset, so holders of an ETH launch receive ETH. See Holder rewards.
There is no creator fee and no creator tax at any stage. You earn only as a holder, for example from the tokens of your initial buy.
For example, on a reward launch with a 2% holder fee, a buy of 0.1 test ETH pays 0.001 test ETH to GAMA and 0.002 test ETH to the token's holders.
Three things follow from the rules:
- The creation block pays GAMA. Nobody holds the token at the start of the block it is created in, so the holder fee from that block, including on your initial buy, goes to GAMA. Your initial buy's tokens start earning in the next block.
- Early holders earn most. While the token is on its curve, the first holders share every later buyer's holder fee among fewer people.
- Completing the curve costs buyers more. Buyers pay 2% to 5% instead of 1%, so more total buying is needed to reach graduation. The amount the curve raises for the pool is the same in both modes.
The app marks reward launches with a Reward mode tag on the token page and in lists.
How to choose
- Choose Standard if you want to be paid for creating the token, and to set a creator tax.
- Choose Reward mode if you want trading fees to go to the people who hold the token. You take part only as a holder.
Either way, the fees and the mode are fixed at launch. GAMA's admin cannot change them for an existing token.
