Your order vault
When you place your first limit or DCA order, the order book creates an order vault for your wallet: a small contract of your own that holds the funds of your orders until each fill. This page explains what the vault holds, who can move its funds, and how money gets back to you.
What the vault is
- One per wallet. Each order book creates one vault per owner, the first time you place an order there, and reuses it for every later order. Its address is under Order details › Order vault.
- Yours only. Funds in your vault can go to only two places: into a fill of your own order, or back to you. No one can send them anywhere else.
- No administrator. The vault cannot be changed or upgraded. GAMA's team has no way to withdraw from it, and its keepers cannot change your order's owner, recipient, route, amounts, limits or expiry.
- Fully funded. When you place an order, its whole amount moves into your vault, so every fill is backed. For a token, your wallet first approves exactly the order's amount; ETH goes with the order itself.
The vault does not hold what you receive. Each fill's output goes straight to your wallet.
Getting your money back
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| You cancel an order | Cancel and refund returns everything not yet spent, at once, even if the order is paused. |
| An order expires with funds left | Its status becomes Refund available; Refund returns the rest. The order contract lets anyone return expired funds to you, but always to you. |
| Too little is left to fill | After a fill, a remainder smaller than the order's minimum fill comes back to your wallet straight away ("Small remainder returned"). |
| A route leaves a token over | A final curve buy can leave some of an intermediate token unspent. It comes back to you ("Leftover token from the route returned"). |
| A keeper's fee limit was not all used | When you pay with ETH, the part of each fill's fee limit that was not needed goes back into your order. |
None of these needs the keeper. You can pause, edit, cancel and refund your orders whether or not GAMA's keepers are running.
The WETH fallback
Some smart-contract wallets cannot receive plain ETH. The order book handles this in three places:
- Refunds: when you cancel an order paid in ETH, you can choose Refund as WETH instead, which sends the same amount as WETH, an ERC-20 version of ETH.
- Output: when an order sells for ETH, you can tick Receive WETH instead of ETH under Advanced when you place it.
- Refused ETH: if a fill sends you ETH and your wallet refuses it, the ETH is not lost. It stays in your vault as free balance, and only you can take it out.
Ready to withdraw
When your vault holds something that is not reserved for an open order, a box appears at the top of your orders: Ready to withdraw from your order vault. "These are left over from your orders. They're yours: withdraw them to your wallet."

- Ready to withdraw from your order vault: shown only when there is something to withdraw.
- Order vault: your vault's address on this order book.
- The free balance and Withdraw, which sends it to your wallet.
Withdraw sends the free balance of that asset to your wallet, with no charge beyond gas. If your wallet refuses ETH, Withdraw as WETH instead appears.
Rewards earned in the vault
Tokens waiting in your vault are still yours, and they earn like any other holding. If you place an order that sells a reward-mode token, the tokens in the vault keep earning holder rewards for you until they are sold.
- Automatic reward payouts for those tokens go to your vault, not straight to your wallet. They then show in Ready to withdraw.
- Vault rewards shows the Unclaimed rewards of each reward-mode token the vault holds. Claim vault rewards sends them straight to your wallet, with no charge beyond gas, and can pay ETH rewards as WETH.
- If the token's locked liquidity has moved to another pool, Move from old pool first brings the rewards over.
The order book itself never earns rewards: it holds a batch's output only for the moment of the trade, and is treated as protocol custody.
Older order books
The current release has more than one order book. New orders go to the current one. If you placed orders on an earlier one, its vault appears as Order vault (older version), and you manage those orders and withdrawals the same way. Orders on an earlier release of GAMA stay there: the footer's Older version: your tokens and orders link opens that release, when there is one.
